How to Use This Mantra Counter

Each tap or spacebar press counts one repetition. The ring fills as you approach 108 — the traditional length of one round of japa — and a full circuit marks the round complete, after which the count resets and a new round begins. Your rounds completed today are tracked below the counter.

Because this tool runs entirely in your browser, today's count stays right here even if you refresh the page — but it isn't saved beyond today, and it isn't synced anywhere. If you want a permanent record of your practice across days, weeks, and mantras, that's exactly what the MantraCounter app is for.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this online mantra counter save my count?

It remembers today's count in your browser so it survives a refresh, but it resets the next day and isn't saved across devices. For a lasting record of your practice, use the MantraCounter app.

Why does the counter reset at 108?

108 is the traditional length of one round of japa, the same count as the beads on a mala. When you reach 108, this tool marks the round complete and starts the next one.

Can I use this without looking at the screen?

Yes — press the spacebar instead of tapping. It's the easiest key to find by feel, so you can keep your eyes closed while chanting.

Does the counter have sound?

Yes — a soft tick for each count and a gentle chime when you complete a round of 108. Sound is on by default; tap the speaker icon in the top corner of the counter to mute it.
